Treemendus make high quality scale model trees

Wire trees

Treemendus wire trees are made using a high grade steel wire which is carefully twisted and bent to create true to prototype scale model trees. The next process sees them coated in a special bark mixture which when dry results in a very strong yet flexible tree. This is then hand painted to suit it’s environment. Then depending on the season they are foliated using a variety of materials again this depends on the species. When these materials are ‘fixed’ to the tree it results in a very durable model indeed. They are supplied with a brass plug and socket to allow easy removal/storage for exhibition or mobile models. They can be commissioned at any size from 1” upwards. Sea moss trees

Sea moss is a natural product which when soaked in warm water becomes more supple allowing it to be teased into a more convincing tree shape. Treemendus sea moss trees are then spraypainted in a realistic bark coloured paint. Next their trunks are thickened using the same bark mixture as used on our wire trees, this gives them a more true to scale looking trunk. Next they are covered in a variety of coloured flocks, depending on the species. when this is ‘fixed’ onto the tree it results in a surprisingly strong tree with a fine tracery of branches. Finally a small metal planting pin is glued into the trunk to aid planting. They range from 4” – 9” approx.

Treemendus trees are handmade to order and therefore unique every time.

I have had pleasure in supplying some very noteworthy model railways both exhibition and private including Bucks Hill, Kevin Wilsons new exhibition layout in 7mm  and the Gresley beat a wonderful 4mm exhibition layout by Cliff Parsons. I have also had the opportunity to work on Pete Watermans extensive Leamington Spa layout, both making trees and working on the general scenery.

Add to this many private collectors including military modellers who as well as creating trees for I have built dioramas for up to 3’ x 3’.
